    • ]]>     We have recently joined FORCES with Esperanza to build the Aleon Craft brand. We are partners in the venture and have worked together on other designs too… We leaked the first project for Craft yesterday and things are moving at light speed.

    We’ve been big fans of ESPERANZA ever since we were cool enough to catch onto these guys (a consideration that’s still up for debate). If there’s a local group that’s aimed a “Creative Eye” at representing Atlanta to the fullest, it’s definitely these guys. Amidst the craziness of getting ready for their South By Southwest stage of local Atlanta musicians (We Put the “A” in Austin), Scoutmob caught up with Eric of Esperanza to ask him a few questions. And true to form, he came back with great answers AND a true Scoutmob-style offer for you folks. (See bottom of the interview for deets.)

    Scout: How would you best describe ESPERANZA to someone who’s never heard of y’all before?
    Eric: ESPERANZA, LLC. is an Atlanta-based project that currently consists of a clothing line, design/production company, and online portal to our lifestyle in the South. Everything ESPERANZA does is homegrown and handmade. The company is fiercely independent, fueled by the blood, sweat and tears of our founders (Daniel Barbalho, Bart Sasso, and Eric Kelly) and has never accepted outsider help or investor money. All clothing is made in limited runs and all contract work for production and design is done with people we trust and admire.

    Scout: What made you guys pursue this passion? Or at what point did you say, “Okay, this is what we have to do”?
    Eric: The shirts started off as a hobby that we just really enjoyed doing. We would make our own designs and print them ourselves. It got to the point where so many people were asking us where we got our shirts, we decided to take the plunge and go for it full time. It has really evolved into much more than t-shirts and we are forever changing and forging ahead.
