We have decided to put together 11 of our favorite SMKA produced tracks of 2011 on a single project… which will be released the first week of January. The following week we will be releasing an instrumental version of the project Exclusively on DJbooth.net.

We have a team of scientist picking the songs as I write this, but feel free to write some suggestions in below. 2011 has been a great year for SMKA, and we got to work with a LOT of talented artists… this is no easy task.

In anticipation of the upcoming A3C Festival, the tracklisting and artwork has been released for the A3C Vol. 1 Compilation, due October 4th via iHipHopDistribution… WITH Production from SMKA. Mike Walbert, of SMKA, helped EP the project working as the artist director of A3C. Mike was instrumental in the creation of this project, working with ihiphopDistribution for several month to pull this project together.

The compilation, featuring new exclusive music from artists performing at the 2011 A3C Hip-Hop Festival, includes contributions from Bun B, Freeway, Aleon Craft, Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T., M.O.P., J-Live, Termanology and a slew of others.

When Creative Loafing wanted to put together an Atlanta mixtape compilation, and with their hands full working on the music issue, they hit us up. We reached out to the Atlanta indie music scene and created a compilation that features music from some of Atlanta best underground talent from all different genres. The project has a little something for everyone: hip-hop, funk, rock, metal, alternative and more.

The tape accompanied the CL MUSIC ISSUE, June 2010.
