The Atlanta Stargazing Tour (Summer 2010)

SMKA: Produced, Booked, Marketed and Executed the Atlanta Stargazing Tour

The highly successful mini-tour took place in Atlanta during the summer of 2010. Co presented by Whynatte, the AST sold out nearly all of the venues and created a live an unique environment for music. Throughout the summer thousands of different people attended the tour.

A traditional “Stargazing Tour,” consists of touring the night sky looking at the stars from different landmarks. The Atlanta Stargazing Tour is slightly different. The AST is a summer concert series that takes place at 6 different, and unique, locations throughout Atlanta. The focus of the AST is to showcase Atlanta’s brightest young artists, from various genres, while creating a distinctive and fun atmosphere for a musical performance.

The Atlanta Stargazing Tour, jointly presented by SMKA and Whynatte, is a summer event series that will showcase some of Atlanta’s brightest, most promising talent in an array of genres. The “tour” will consist of six separate shows at venues around Atlanta. the series begins Thursday, July 1st and end Thursday, September 9th. The events will occur roughly two weeks apart, with each taking place at a different location in neighborhoods around Atlanta. In order of first show to last, the locations are: The East Side Lounge, Midtown Tavern, Star Bar, The Glenn Hotel, Park Tavern, and Clermont Lounge.

Each event will feature live performance with a different overall theme and vibe, that best fits the venue. Artists (currently) scheduled to perform include: Killer Mike, Aleon Craft, Nappy Roots, ALIEN WARR, Brittany Bosco, Grip Plyaz, Spree Wilson, Vonnegutt, Jay West, STS, Ocha La Rocha, Weapons of Audio, Playboy Tre, FKi, Sean Falyon, Paper Route Gangstaz, Richelle L. Brown, Niko Villamor, The Soviet Rockets, Smitty & The Spare Change, and Alexandrea Lushington.

The support and community involvement surrounding this series has been phenomenal. A long list of local companies and media outlets have come on board to help support this tour.
