“Hip-Hop meets Classical” with SMKA, Aleon Craft & The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra aired on CNN @ 12:45pm February, 12th 2010.
This is a special collaboration between Hip-Hop and Classical music that is the first of its kind. According to the governing symphony organization, this is the first collaboration of its kind. The collaboration was a result of ASO’s Concerts for Young People, a series of programs that focus on integrating the arts into school curriculum with concerts performed by full orchestra. The ASO commissioned Atlanta-based SMKA Productions to create a song that sampled classical music. The piece was performed for a full audience by the ASO and Aleon Craft at the Atlanta Symphony Hall 18 times between October-Febuary 2010.
“It’s a fascinating piece of work.”
- Jere Flint (ASO Conductor)

“We are honored to have had the opportunity to work with The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and some of the most talented musician in the world. At its very core, Hip-Hop music is an art form that incorporates ALL other genres to create something new and special. This unique collaboration was a wonderful example of hip-hop’s ability to embrace, and work with, classical music. This collaboration has been one of our most rewarding ventures to date, and we will continue to experiment with new and eccentric projects. We will also continue to encourage others to do the same.” – SMKA
